The Box:

The SquareHue March O’Hue Collection is adorably themed for St. Patrick’s Day. The trio of shades gives a fun nod to the beer consumption that is associated with this festive Irish holiday. All of the swatches below are two-coats of the nail polish color with no top coat. Enjoy!
O’Hue Collection – Amber Lager
Full-size 0.5 fl oz., value: USD $7.00
This bronze reddish brown color is gorgeous! Metallic nail polish colors are my absolute favorite and this shade is perfect for day or night wear. Amber Lager reads more of a fall color to me.

O’Hue Collection – Blonde Ale
Full-size 0.5 fl oz., value: USD $7.00
Blonde Ale provides a more subtle hue that would look great on any skin tone. I really like the understated shimmer and this golden color can match well with a variety of outfits. Love it!

O’Hue Collection – Patty’s Pint
Full-size 0.5 fl oz., value: USD $7.00
Emerald has been named the official Pantone color of 2013, so this deep green color is perfectly on-trend. This lush tone is the must-have shade for spring!

I am so impressed with the March SquareHue O’Hue collection. The bottles are gorgeous and uniquely-shaped, with fabulous colors to match. The forumla goes on smoothly and these shades are some of the hottest colors this season. My top pick is Amber Lager because it works nicely with my skin tone. The $21 per month price point is a steal for these high-quality nail polishes. I can’t wait to receive my next SquareHue box!
What are your thoughts on SquareHue? Would you like to receive a monthly nail polish box?

I never heard of SquareHue, but I am digging these colors–especially Patty’s Pint. I don’t paint my nails enough for it to be a worthwhile investment, but as always I love reading your reviews. AND, I feel a bit more fashion savvy because of them
Thank you!
Mary, I love your comments
. This is my first SquareHue box and the thing that first caught my eye was the cool branding and square shaped nail polish bottles. Totally chic! I think my nail polished obsessed readers are going to love this brand, and the monthly box makes for a great gift too.

This looks great! Especially like that they’re 3 free too and lovely shades xx
I was so happy with the colors in the March O’Hue Collection. Metallic nail polish is the best!
- KW
Thanks for another awesome review. I have to confess that 3 polishes each month is overkill for me, however, the St. Patricks Day theme is clever. I would consider ordering no more than once per quarter – as the seasons change…
With SquareHue you can pause your subscription at anytime, so you could receive one box every three months if that’s your preference
.

Do you use Essie? how would you compare this to Essie? Essie has bright colors, but it’s so thin that I have to use 3 layers everytime!
Essie is one of my favorite nail polish brands. SquareHue actually applies better than Essie and the coats are thicker. If you tried using SquareHue polish, I’d bet that you wouldn’t have to apply more than two coats to get the desired color. In the swatch photos I posted, I applied two coats with no clear top coat.

I may need to try this! Love the colors – and despite being a green polish enthusiast I like that they did something different for St. Patrick’s Day.
I love SquareHue’s March color choices! I know you’re a Julep Maven fan. The Maven box comes with three bottles of nail polish, plus additional hand products like lotion or cuticle cream, but I found out that the actual Julep nail polish bottles are half the size of the SquareHue bottles.

This is so cute!! I love the colors, and LOVE the fun theme!
Totally, Laura! I can’t wait to see what SquareHue comes up with next month. My guess is pastel colors for the Easter month of April.
- KW
That’s pretty neat! I didnt know about this site. Interesting to know they have this Service to get online! The colors ame nice as well. Oh and I like your nails
Thanks for the comment, Emmy. There’s a subscription service for just about anything
SquareHue saves me a trip to the store so it’s super convenient.

This box seems super fun and I really liked all 3 colors!! However, for $21/month I think I would rather like to get 3 different brands of polish because I love growing my collection with new found brands and old favorites. I’ll watch out for the next review on these next month to make my final verdict, might have to try it out eventually
I’m looking forward to next month’s SquareHue collection as well. Hopefully it includes some gorgeous pastel colors!

The emerald color is fabulous! I was so excited to see it in the March box.

I’m definitely going to give these a try! I’ve been searching for a more chemical ‘friendly’ nail polish!!
Yay! I’m so glad you’re going to try SquareHue. The company really prides itself on it’s clean nail polish formula – no DBP, formaldehyde, or toluene.

Awesome post! I love the quality of the SquareHue polishes and the way they package them is so cute!
Ali, the quality of the SquareHue nail polish is amazing (and I use a LOT of nail polish brands). The unique packaging totally won me over too

That is pretty cool. But I am awful at painting my nails so it might not be I good idea for me to jump on the bandwagon. I am new to your blog and looking forward to reading more.

Thanks for following my blog! If you’re not into nail polish, there are a bunch of other beauty subscription boxes that you can try. Check out my reviews and let me know what you like best.

Oh wow! I like that it’s a ‘three free’ formula – I’m trying to keep those nail polishes out of my roaster, and I really like the minimalist, and environmentally friendly packaging. The only thing I’m not sure about is having to get polish colours I might not like. I’m really particular about my colours – in beauty and in dress. I like brights but not always shimmer…it’s complicated! I think I’ll read up on your take of Birchbox next.
I love that SquareHue features a clean formula. If you’re picky about your nail polish colors then getting a subscription box may be a bit of a gamble. I’ve really had a fun experience with it so far.

I’ve never heard of this box before… these polishes are really pretty and I love how square the bottles are! Too bad they don’t ship to Canada.
xo, alison*elle
The square bottles are so cute! I can’t wait to see what colors SquareHue features next month

I’ve never seen anything like this..such a great idea! How long have you been receiving these? Thinking about signing up..I’m a nail polish addict
This is my first SquareHue nail polish subscription box. I love it! There are many other nail polish subscription brands too. Next month I’ll be review PISTOLpolish and The Nail Stash.
- KW
Looking forward to it!
I’ve never heard of these polishes before, but will check them out now! Thanks – and your blog is a great idea!
Thank you! I can’t wait to share more beauty subscription box reviews with you over the next few weeks.

Adorable theme for this month and I love the high colour payoff with just 2 coats and that the brand’s lacquers are 3-free; super! : )
Wish I could subscribe to the boxes you write about; pity I’m not residing in the States!
- C
Thanks for the comment, C. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the color looked after onle two coats. Where do you live? I’m sure there are other beauty subscription boxes that are available to you.
- KW
I’m in Singapore, and as you’ve rightly pointed out, we have Glamabox and other beauty box services but I’ve never been really impressed with the quality of their products that come with the boxes. So I assemble my own with my curated beauty buys! :p
Love it!

I love this. The colors are so pretty.

great blog! i’ve been wondering what SquareHue is all about!
Thanks! I think SquareHue is AMAZING, and a much better value than it’s competitor Julep.
- KW

Love especially the blonde ale polish
The Blonde Ale is a gorgeous shade

These colors are great! Have you tried the Julep Maven subscription? Which do you like better? Square hue or Julep? Thanks for checking out my blog!
-Summer
fashionandflare.wordpress.com
Hi Summer – I haven’t tired Julep Maven but I’m very familiar with their boxes. Square Hue and Julep are about the same price each month, but the bottles of Square Hue nail polish are twice as big as the Julep bottles. On the other hand, Julep throws in a few extras, like a nail file or hand cream. I think both brands are fab, it just depends on what you’re looking for each month.
- KW
I like all of these colors!
Me too. It’s so hard to choose a favorite.
